Build for BRI: China builds Maldives' first inter-island bridge

The Sinamale Bridge (also called China-Maldives Friendship Bridge), built by a Chinese company, is the first cross-sea bridge in the Maldives. Inaugurated in 2018, the two kilometer-long bridge is testimony to the two nations’ commitment to the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
