Halo: Reach Tip of the Spear Legendary Zero Shot Segmented in 9:41 by Komakazi916

Hello everyone. The other day I decided to attempt to do the Halo: Reach campaign with zero shots fired. This won't exactly be an easy task, but I decided to attempt it. This run was really fun, and I chose it to do first because it is probably the easiest zero shot run. Anyway, I think this run is pretty cool. First, I will list the rules for zero shot runs. 1) Absolutely NO shots fired 2) Melee weapons (Gravity Hammer and Energy Sword) are allowed since they do not fire a shot 3) Grenades and meleeing are allowed 4) No shooting the guns of a vehicle. You can, however, get the AI to shoot. The speedrunning community considers the falcon flying part to be an "active cutscene" as shooting is required to survive. Therefore, in zero shot and pacifist runs, shooting in the falcon is allowed. This run is segmented in 9:41. The single segment record for Tip of the Spear is 12:47 by Auraxade. There is also a segmented speedrun of this mission in 31:57 by EnsnaredCadaver; however, he did a couple launches to completely skip this falcon flight making his speedrun even more "zero shot." On to this video, it is the first zero shot segmented speedrun that I have attempted. I practiced several areas for a little while. This took a combined 20 or 25 minutes. I also watched the zero shot speedruns listed above. I will link them at the bottom of the description. The playthrough of the mission took about 1 hour; however, after completing it once, I believe I could do it much faster now. Some tricks in this run are pretty cool. First, I sprint past the first fight and jack a ghost. I first saw this done by EnsnaredCadaver. After that, another big trick is the grenade jump at the BXR facility which was found by Auraxade. I drive the Revenant to the rocks by the second AA gun and spring jump up the rock. This is similar to how Auraxade did it. This allowed me to destroy the AA gun quickly. After that I splattered everyone in the Revenant, and drove the hunters off the cliff. I rode the falcon to the spire, beat down the sword elite, and sliced all of the grunts. This run is decent; however, it could easily be improved. I'm sure sub-9 minutes is very possible. Maybe even faster. I am currently working on a couple other zero shot segmented speedruns: ONI: Sword Base and Exodus. Exodus especially is turning out to be very fun to plan out. Look for these in the future.
