[Warning: This project is based on stories from the Expanded Universe (aka pre-Disney), and as such contains huge spoilers for those novels. Though I'm guessing if you found this video then you're likely familiar with the books already or, in the case of most friends and family, don't plan to ever read them]. The characters mention many things throughout the song. To make it more clear what they refer to, and to help give context beyond the opening crawl of verbose exposition, I've placed the characters who are singing on the left, and what or who they are referring to on the right. Hopefully that will make things clearer. It probably just made some more confusing though. I’m very good at needlessly overcomplicating things. This project started about a year and a half ago, when I had the idea that I could, with very little alteration, completely recontextualize this song to fit with the story of the Star Wars novel 'Invincible' by Troy Denning, with some artistic license taken of course. It centers around my favourite fictional character Jaina Solo, the daughter of Han and Leia, and her twin brother Jacen Solo, now Darth Caedus. I voice both Caedus and Jaina, but the chorus is from a wonderful instrumental version (see links at the bottom of the description). This song (The Plagues, from Dreamworks' The Prince of Egypt) required the least number of rewritten lyrics, which is to say it has basically none, to make it fit with the story. The next song (from a different piece of musical theatre) has quite a few lyrical alterations, and the final song is mostly lyrics I wrote myself, which I'm rather proud of. I knew I wanted to make this Cover-Based Musical (haha, wordplay), but didn't know how to present it, which songs to do, or if I could pull it off at all. Since then I have taken voice acting classes, was given a principal role in an opera, and am generally much more confident in my abilities and displaying them. Only within the last week have I gained enough drive to continue working on this project, and wrote the third song, which brought everything else into perspective. **Thank you to all the EU writers who made Jaina such a compelling character, especially Troy Denning, Elaine Cunningham, Walter Jon Williams, Kevin J. Anderson, and Rebecca Moesta. This project is dedicated to you all just as much as it is Jaina.** Star Wars fanfare from • Video Instrumental (with chorus) from PrinsenAvEgypten: • The Prince Of Egypt - The Plagues (English...
