China has imposed trade curbs on Taiwan, in retaliation to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit. The list of blacklisted items could grow as political tensions intensify. Beijing has banned imports of agricultural products such as citrus fruits, as well as seafood such as chilled white scallops and frozen mackerel from Taiwan. China has also halted exports of natural sands to Taiwan. One type -- quartz sand -- is an important raw material for chip manufacturing, which Taiwan is known for. China is Taiwan’s largest trading partner. Bilateral trade jumped 26% to nearly $330 billion last year.
