Every Dungeon Master's Nightmare | Curse of the Schedule | Funny D&D Song - Fantasy Tavern Music

The maps are drawn and DM is waiting - original fantasy folk music for every D&D player who's ever fought the scheduling curse. The bard has been here since noon. She swept the floor, set the table, and told the innkeep to prepare the best ale. The candles were lit. The maps were unrolled. The dice were waiting. And somewhere between the seventh Friday and the eighth, the bard stopped being surprised - and started writing a song about it. Curse of the Schedule is for every party that swore on their lives they would meet this time. The session is ready. The heroes are not. Come in, pull up a chair. At least one thing showed up tonight. The session may be canceled — but the song never is. 🔔 Subscribe for more bardic tales and fantasy folk music! 🍻   / @thabardtavern   Perfect for: 🌿 Joyful evenings in a medieval fantasy tavern atmosphere 🎧 Anyone who loves original folk ballads and fantasy stories 🎲 D&D, Pathfinder and all tabletop RPG (TTRPG) sessions 📜 Full lyrics on screen — sing along, or let the music carry you somewhere else 📜 LYRICS — CURSE OF THE SCHEDULE Gather 'round, the hour is near. Adventure calls and Friday's here! Maps are all drawn and table is set, For a quest that hasn't started yet. Ranger, Wizard, Thief with a grin, They swore by the Gods they'd be walking right in. But word came at high noon - Ranger's in bed, "Something came up" - or so it was said. The dragon is waiting, the dungeon is set, The finest of heroes... not gathered just yet. "Same time on Friday" - they swore it was true, The quest can wait one more week or two. Wizard is scrubbing the soot from his floor, "Locked in a ritual!" — he's barring the door. Thief sent a message: "Detained, it's alright" One last job — 'til the morning is bright. Note from the Cleric arrived with a bird, "Grandmother's ill" - is the lie that I heard. The dragon is waiting, the dungeon is set, The finest of heroes... not gathered just yet. "Same time on Friday" — they swore it was true, The quest can wait one more week or two. I've fought every demon that lives in my head. I've sung to the rafters, I've waked up the dead. I've practiced my "Vicious Mockery" hours on end, Just to use it on shadows and a "missing" friend. Does no one want glory? Does no one want loot? Or is Friday a monster you can't seem to shoot?! The dragon is waiting, the dungeon is set, The finest of heroes... not gathered just yet. "Same time on Friday" - they swore it was true, The quest can wait one more week or two. We set our gathering for next Friday then, Same tavern, same stools, same old songs again. I'll tune up my strings and I'll wait by the door, Like I did... seven Fridays before. Dragon's stopped pacing and settled to sleep, Princess stopped counting bricks of her keep, Dungeon grows dusty, goblins grow old I play to the barkeep and ghosts of the road. #DnDmusic #fantasymusic #tavernmusic #medievalmusic #fantasyfolk
