Nick Jonas suffers cracked rib in bike accident ‘l’ve been better ’

TMZ reported earlier in the day that the singer from Jersey was hospitalized Saturday because of an unspecified injury on the set of a TV show. Carson Daly, the host of “The Voice,” started the show with a status report from the member of the Jonas Brothers, who serves as a coach on the NBC reality competition series.“Nick, how are you feeling?” he asked.“I’m feeling OK,” said Jonas, 28, wearing a leopard print jacket. “I’ve been better but I’m doing all right. Cracked rib from a spill on a bike and a few other bumps and bruises, but I just wanna go ahead and say that in case I’m not as physically enthusiastic as I usually am.”With that, Jonas turned to Blake Shelton, a fellow coach on the show.“Blake, please don’t make me laugh too much because it kind of hurts to laugh,” he said. Trae Patton | NBC“You’re just trying to get sympathy votes on this show, that’s all you’re doing,” Shelton said.“You’re right,” Jonas said. “There’s a big elaborate plan.”Jonas, who grew up in Wyckoff and Little Falls with his family and fellow members of the Jonas Brothers (Joe and Kevin), went on to say he was “really happy” to be there. He didn’t mention the name of the show he was apparently working on when he was injured, or the circumstances of the accident. Jonas is set to host the Billboard Music Awards Sunday, May 23 on NBC. The singer and actor served as the host and the musical guest on “Saturday Night live” in February. Jonas was reportedly being considered for the role of Newark crooner Frankie Valli in an upcoming streaming version of the long-running, Tony-winning “Jersey Boys.” Valli and fellow Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio are set to produce.
