After Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) shut down indefinitely after violence erupted on the campus on Monday over the death of a student, hostel students have been asked to leave the premises within the next 48 hours. Enraged over the killing of a BSc second year student Mazhar Naeem late Sunday night, hundreds of students went on the rampage in the varsity and set ablaze Vice Chancellor P K Abdul Aziz's residence on Monday. Rapid Action Force and PAC personnel were deployed in the campus to maintain order, AMU spokesman Rahat Abrar said adding the situation was tense but under control.
