NICOLA Sturgeon has set out new Covid rules in Scotland this afternoon as she warns of a "tsunami of infections" amid fears of a surge in Omicron cases. The First Minister confirmed this afternoon that there are 5,018 new Covid cases across the country. She said the variant is likely to overtake Delta and become the dominant strain in Scotland by Christmas. She added that the country potentially faces a "tsunami of infections" as Omicron infections continue to rise. Although no harsh lockdown restrictions have been introduced as of yet, certain rules have been tweaked to stop the virus from spreading further.
