Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U) - 2-4 Sawmill Thrill: 1:59.72 IL Run (Shiny Gold)

Sawmill Thrill is another minecart (slash boat?) autoscroller, so there's little to optimize here. As usual, avoid slopes deathly like the plague. Jump a lot; through various obstacles if you must, to keep up speed. Particularly in this level, in the first part there's various platforms moving left, which will slow you down slightly, so we want to avoid them. We get our HP restored on the transition to boat for an extra damageboost. I'm a big fan of the gigantic leap we do into the ceiling above us, taking it all out. But it conserves a ton of speed from the slope. Though the timing of the jump after is very tight. I also really like the final damageboost in the minecart section because it looks incredibly reckless, throwing yourself into the sawblades and into the abyss below, but it's 100% safe (in the videogame).
