On World Suicide Prevention Day, we wish to acknowledge everyone in NSW affected by suicide. We particularly want to recognise the strength & resilience of people who live with suicidal thinking, who have survived suicide attempts, and families, friends & communities who have lost people they love to suicide. We all have a role to play in preventing suicide. Statements like “I’ve been worried about you lately” or “I’ve noticed some changes in you lately and I’m wondering how you’re going?” can give people who are feeling distressed an opportunity to talk. For more support on starting conversations and supporting people in distress, search #YouCanTalk or go to conversationsmatter.com.au #WSPD2018
