Beating Nier Automata Prologue on Hard

Beating Nier Automata Prologue on Hard

Check out my stream if you want to watch more of my hard difficulty playthrough on Twitch: twitch.tv/pandamicpandamonium Might not be as impressive as someone who beat it on Very Hard mode, but it is still an achievement to me! This took me about 8 hours worth of trying, crying, and a lot of rage. In fact, the final boss fight section might as well be the same as very hard since you can also get one shot by the boss anyways. For anyone that has not tried playing Nier: Automata on any difficulty above normal, the prologue is easily the hardest part in the whole run simply because it is about 30 minutes of game play with no checkpoints, no save points. You die, you have to start from the beginning and cannot skip the opening speech by 2B. I did get hit a few times early on in the run, but honestly I was playing lazy in the beginning because I just wanted to get to the part that was giving me the most trouble which was the goliath fight at the end. All of those hits I took could have been easily evaded and I could MAYBE have a slight chance of beating this on very hard in the future. I also got really lucky on the double buzzsaw fight and the flight part on the goliath. If you have any questions or need advice on beating the prologue for Nier Automata on hard feel free to leave a comment below. Here are some basic tips I can give to anyone else who is having trouble with the prologue. 1. In jet mode, your heavy attack is actually a shield that can protect you from the projectile bullet hell. It also damages any enemies that are near the shield as well. You can also use light attack button to spin yourself to destroy the projectiles as well. You cannot use the shield in mobile mode (gundam mode) but can still light attack to destroy projectiles. 2. During the first boss fight with the singular buzzsaw you unlock your pods ability to fire a piercing laser that does heavy damage. USE THIS OFTEN it has a hefty cooldown so you cannot spam it. But try to use it as often as you can when you are in a safe spot of course. 3. Learn the attacks of all the bosses, which is honestly the more tedious part. Since the boss in the last part of the prologue is pretty much a one shot for all of his attacks. Sending you back to the very beginning. You spend so little time actually practicing the timing. 4. If all else fails spam the dodge button! If you are using keyboard and mouse, use the mod that fine tunes the controls and even allows you to bind an evade button! Really useful. 5. Make life easier for you on subsequent tries by skipping unnecessary fights, especially when running around the factory you can jump or sprint past a lot of enemies which saves a lot of time.
