GBC Virtual 5K and Walk

Sign up now for our Virtual 5K and Walk! #GBCBolt5K Register here: https://bit.ly/2G9Rbme We are pleased to announce the Goldey-Beacom College’s virtual 5K and walk, the inaugural Lightning Bolt 5K Run & 1886 Legacy Walk, brought to you by the GBC Alumni Association and the Track & Field/Cross Country teams. Run your favorite 5K loop or walk for 1,886 seconds (1886, the year Goldey College was founded), submit your results online, and be eligible to win one of a number of great prizes and awards. This event takes place the week of GBC's Legacy Weekend, November 2-8, 2020. How will it work? In order to come together and show support for the Lightning community while social distancing, participants can race virtually from anywhere in the world. Walk or run on the treadmill, through a local park, around the neighborhood, or on the track. Just make sure you are wearing your Lightning gear and tracking your distance! Any time during the dates of November 2-8, 2020, participants can complete their run/walk from anywhere they choose. You must submit a time in order to be eligible for prizes. Acceptable submissions can include a screenshot from Strava, MapMyRun, Apple Watch, or any comparable app that shows time and distance traveled. A photo of your treadmill and screen is also acceptable. This virtual event will also include a 'drive-thru' event to pick up your race supplies. Join us at the recently renovated GBC campus on Saturday, October 31st, to enjoy a safe and socially-distanced packet pickup. This is where you’ll pick up your custom race bib. Packet Pickup “Drive-Thru” - Saturday, October 31st - 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (If you can't make it on 10/31/20 your packet can be mailed) Be sure to use #GBCBOLT5K and tag the official GBC accounts to share your race preparation and post-race photos and videos on social media! *Special $19/per person pricing available for GBC students and participants age 21 and under will be calculated at registration!
