Jonathan Roumie Says Crucifixion Scene in The Chosen Season 6 Was His Most Demanding Role Yet

Actor Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the acclaimed series The Chosen, revealed that filming the crucifixion scenes for Season 6 has been “the most physical thing” he’s ever done. Speaking with ChurchLeaders on the red carpet of the 2025 K-LOVE Fan Awards, Roumie opened up about the spiritual and physical weight of portraying such a sacred moment in Jesus' life. Season 6 is currently in production, portraying the climactic and heart-wrenching crucifixion of Christ.
