(29 Dec 2014) AP TELEVISION New York, December 29, 2014 1. SOUNDBITE (English) Scott Mayerowitz, AP Airlines Writer: "After two days of the plane missing, I think it's fair to presume that it is unfortunately gone, that it did crash into the ocean. We don't know that for sure and so we to find parts of the plane, but it is presumed that this plane did crash." 2. SOUNDBITE (English) Scott Mayerowitz, AP Airlines Writer: "Right now search and rescue teams are going across the ocean looking for any sign of the plane. We have a pretty good idea with the last communication of the jet was and a general area where to be searching. The problem here is that we had a very bad storm two nights ago and because of that, rough waters can move parts of the plane around, it's slowed down the search and rescue efforts." 3. SOUNDBITE (English) Scott Mayerowitz, AP Airlines Writer: There's still more than a dozen vessels on the ocean looking for any parts the plane, life jackets seat cushions, anything that might float and could be visible." SOUNDBITE (English) Scott Mayerowitz, AP Airlines Writer: "The area that we're searching for this plane, while in the same part of the world as Malaysia Flight 370, we're looking at a vast different area, about eight hours of flying time apart from where one plane has gone missing and the other one is now presumed missing." SOUNDBITE (English) Scott Mayerowitz, AP Airlines Writer: "Planes don't just drop out of the sky. At cruise elevations it's actually the safest part of a flight, only ten percent of all fatal accidents ever happened during that point in flight, so weather here seems to be a factor only because there's no other clear explnation what's going on. This is a very well-traveled air corridor, there were actually about a half-dozen other planes in close proximity at the same time."
