On The Newshour Debate, with Madhavdas G, we discuss the Vasooligate super exposure. Former Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh was arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. He was arrested post-midnight, after 12 hours of interrogation, with regard to the 100-crore extortion and money laundering case. The former minister had joined the ED probe after skipping multiple summons from the agency to join the investigation into the allegations of extortion and money laundering against him. On October 29 the Bombay High Court had rejected his plea to quash the summons against him by the ED. “As far as Anil Deshmukh is concerned, all allegations on him are baseless. These allegations have been put by Param Bir Singh when Deshmukh removed him as CP,” said Tehseen Poonawalla, Political Analyst. Watch the video to know more.
