Reince Priebus interview on Sunday 5/15 with Chris Wallace. Part 1. Q1. NYT front page on Trump’s gross conduct towards women over the years, even in the workplace. Does it bother you? Priebus: Well a lot of things bother me Chris. I’m the wrong person to be asking that question to. Q1 Follow-up: Well wait a minute, why are you the wrong person. You’re the chairman of the party. This is your nominee and they’re saying he’s mistreated women over the years? Priebus: We’ve been working on this primary for over a year Chris. All these stories that come out every couple weeks, people just don’t care. People look at Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and say who’s going to bring an earthquake to Washington, DC? I think the bigger issue when we make these judgments about people is whether or not people are throwing stones in glass houses. When people are hypocrites, that’s when these stories have an impact. When people look at Donald Trump, they don’t say they’re surprised he’s had girlfriends in the past. That’s not what people look at. The traditional playbook and analysis really don’t apply. Q1 Follow-up: Forgive me but the question is not whether he had girlfriends. The question is whether he mistreated women or not. Whether he made unwanted advances. Whether he humiliated women. I don’t understand when you say people don’t care. Are you going to look into the allegations? Priebus: Well look I’m not saying people don’t care about it. The reason he is where he is at is because he represents something much different than the traditional analysis of individual candidates. And yes everything bothers me Chris but I don’t know the truth of these things. I don’t know after reading an article whether these things are true. I think it’s something Donald Trump is going to have to answer questions in regards to. After a year of different stories, nothing applies. That’s all I’m saying…who’s going to bring change to Washington? A career politician or a total outsider, with some flaws…?
