In Flanders Fields - a poem by John McCrae
In 1915 a Canadian doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, serving on the Western front wrote a poem “In Flanders Fields”. He was moved by the view of Poppies growing determinedly, bright and beautiful, in the battlefields and makeshift graveyards of #Flanders. This poem inspired the adoption of the #Poppy as the emblem of #Remembrance. This channel is free and will remain so.
