In today’s gospel reading (Luke 1:57-66), the relatives of Zechariah and Elizabeth disagreed over the name of their baby. They were surprised that the name given ⏤ John ⏤ did not follow tradition, that is, using the father’s name Zechariah. It was the name given to Zechariah by the angel and it means “the Lord is gracious.” This is the 260th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
