Corn was no-till planted into cereal rye stubble following the cereal rye harvest for forage. Rye contained 15% protein and had a relative forage quality of 136. The cereal rye was planted as a cover in mixture with oats and Austrian field peas in August 2017 following a Canadian field pea harvest. Manure application of 5,000 gal/acre prior to cover crop planting.
