Sneh Rana: The Comeback Queen of Indian Cricket | ISH News
Sneh Rana was born on 18 February 1994 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, into a humble farming family. Her father was a farmer, and her mother managed the home. Growing up in Sinaula, on the outskirts of Dehradun, Sneh often played cricket and other sports with boys in her neighbourhood, which helped her build confidence and strength from a young age. Her domestic cricket journey began with Uttarakhand, but she truly made her mark while representing Punjab and later the Railways team. In 2014, she made her senior India debut in both ODIs and T20Is a dream come true for the young all-rounder. However, her career soon faced a major setback when a knee injury in 2016 forced her out of international cricket for several years. Instead of giving up, Sneh fought her way back through consistent domestic performances. She returned stronger than ever, making her Test debut for India on 16 June 2021 against England. Her form in the 2020–21 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy was outstanding, where she became the leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets for Railways. Her incredible comeback continued when she was named Player of the Series in the 2025 Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series, taking 15 wickets in just five matches.
