KFMB CBS 8 News Opens, 5/4/2022

JOIN BROADCAST PLAZA TODAY, DISCORD'S MEDIA DISCUSSION COMMUNITY — http://bit.ly/S31MA Quick montage of some of the news opens from TEGNA's CBS affiliate in San Diego, California. All recorded on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. The music is the same as every other Tegna station, the child-safe (non-vocal) version of "C Clarity" from Sixième Son (except in the "Special Edition" open which does use the explicit version). The station tends to use production music on their 6pm and 11pm shows which are cold-opened (those have been captured on multiple occasions by other YouTubers, but not these opens from the earlier shows). The 4pm show uses a different piece of music called "Spring Boards" from the Universal Production Music library. I have no idea who the voiceover is. Graphics are an updated version of the Tegna group package that some stations have picked up in the last year or so. The station has started to adopt more of a trendy feel in the presentation and branding department in the past couple of years since TEGNA has taken control. Since the management is largely held over from the previous ownership though, the product is still pretty traditional from a content standpoint. I don't mind it and while they aren't my favorite station in the market (I find KNSD and KGTV to have a stronger product these days), they're still fairly respectable for a TEGNA station. Also picked up in the last year or so is a new slogan, "Working For You". Anchors include John Howard, Kaz Alavi, Heather Myers, Steve Price, Marcella Lee, and Jesse Pagan. 0:00 - KFMB CBS 8 legal ID 0:05 - News 8 Special Edition open (usually fills time following the conclusion of a sporting event that ends "early" for the West Coast audience; this sort of thing is commonplace among most West Coast stations) 0:55 - "The Four" tease/open 2:03 - CBS 8 News Live at 5.00 tease/open 3:13 - CBS 8 News Live at 6.30 open ©2022 Tegna Media and KFMB-TV, no copyright infringement intended.
