#Kaalimasoor/Black Lentils #easy#tasty#Indian/Pakistani dish Ingredients 1 ½ Cup Masoor/Sabut masoor/Brown or black lentils 1 tbsp Garlic paste ½ Tsp Turmeric ½ tsp Chili powder 1 tsp Chili flakes 1 tsp Cumin seeds 4 Cups of Water 1 Tbsp Tamarind soaked in 3 tbsp of water ½ Jalapeno cut into slices Mint 8-10 leaves For Tarka 4 Whole garlic cut into small slices 2 Tbsp Oil Directions 1. Wash lentils 3-4 times with water 2. Add lentils in a pressure cooker, add chili flakes, chili powder, garlic paste, turmeric and water and leave it on medium high flame. 3. After 15-18 minutes depending on pressure cooker, turn off the stove and wait till the whistle turns off 4. Open pressure cooker once it’s safe. Lentils should be tender. Mash with spoon and add jalapeno slices, mint leaves and soaked tamarind, remove tamarind seeds if any. 5. Add water as per your required consistency and leave it on simmer for 10 minutes For Tarka 6. Add oil in frying pan and chopped garlic. Fry until garlic turns in golden color then add cumin seeds and fry for a minute. 7. Pour this tarka on daal Enjoy with basmati rice, jasmine rice, pita or as a soup.
