If you love quick vegetarian recipes that are simple yet satisfying, this matar pulao is a must-try! 📌Ingredients To Make Matar Pulao (Serves 2–3 People) • Basmati rice – 1 cup • Green peas (fresh or frozen) – ½ cup • Onion – 1 small, thinly sliced • Green chilli – 1 (optional, slit) • Ginger – 1 teaspoon (very finely minced or paste) • Whole spices: • Bay leaf – 1 • Green cardamom – 2 • Cloves – 2 • Cinnamon – 1 small piece • Oil or ghee – 2 tablespoons • Salt – to taste • Water – 2 cups • Fresh coriander – optional, for garnish -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📌Method To Make Peas Pulao 1. Wash & soak rice Wash the basmati rice until the water runs clear. Soak for 20 minutes, then drain. 2. Heat fat gently In a heavy-bottom pan or pressure cooker, heat oil or ghee on *low to medium heat*. 3. Add whole spices Add bay leaf, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. Let them release aroma—don’t brown them. 4. Sauté onion carefully Add sliced onion and sauté **until soft and translucent only**. Do not let it turn golden. 5. Add ginger & chilli Add ginger and green chilli. Sauté for 30 seconds until the raw smell disappears. 6. Add peas Stir in green peas and cook for 1–2 minutes. 7. Add rice & water Add drained rice and gently mix. Pour in water and add salt. Bring to a gentle boil. 8. Cook • Cover and cook on low heat for 12–15 minutes • Or pressure cook for 1 whistle on low heat 9. Rest & fluff Let it rest covered for 5 minutes.
