The German intent to destroy the Afsluitdijk

In April 1945 it was clear to almost everyone that the German Reich would fall apart. However, the Germans would not give up the fight until they had done as much damage as possible. In this context, the Afsluitdijk also was planned to be destroyed. The destruction plans with regard to the Afsluitdijk will be discussed in this essay.
