Across the street is the Apple Store, and the Henna Shoppe Clothing store. I see a banner in front of the Public Safety Kiosk / Police Mini-Station that says Free Block Party, Live Music, Outdoor Dining, Fun For All Ages, Third Thursdays @ Third Street, Every Third Thursday Of The Month, 1200 Block Third St, Promenade I believe that the banners on the lamp posts say Día de los Muertos Celebration Saturday, October 26, 2024 SIO's Eagle Eyes: Karolina, Leo and Ella have changed into wearing costumes from Disney's Beauty & the Beast. 15 yr, 11 mo old Karolina has changed clothes and is now wearing a sleeveless, yellow chiffon ballgown with cowl-neck, a V-back, and fitted waist, with a thin brown leather belt where she can attach her wireless transmitter attached at the back, probably with slip shorts for when she does spins & kicks, and black combat boots. Karolina has a yellow ribbon choker with a white Jasmine flower in the front around her neck. She is wearing her hair pulled back and tied with a hair elastic into a high ponytail, with a yellow bow attached to it. 6 yr 4 mo old Leo has on a lemon-yellow European Footman costume consisting of a yellow double-breasted tailcoat jacket, over a white ruffle shirt, yellow Renaissance short pants, blue ankle socks and dark beige leather desert boots. He isn't wearing Lumiere accessories. Ella is dressed in a turquoise & white, Belle from Disney Beauty & the Beast costume with blue ribbon holding her hair in a ponytail. Many of the spectators have remained during the many costume changes of that afternoon's performances. 3 yr 8 mo old Nicky is still wearing an olive green & off-white windowpane check, long sleeve shirt with off-white jeans, and brown leather desert boots. At the beginning of the video, Karolina is practicing in the street on the black Yamaha digital piano. Leo is looking on from in front of the greenish-grey electric utilities box. Behind them on the sidewalk are Karolina's friend, busking partner (and sometimes bodyguard) Dangel* in a yarmulka, light blue long sleeve shirt, and dark blue pants with dark walking boots standing with his two daughters, plus the pretty girl in the magenta T-shirt and dark grey leggings, who I suspect is a paternal cousin of the Protsenko kids, based on her having light skin like Nik has, rather than darker skin that Ella has. Dangel's real name is Daniel Mataev. At 1 sec, Nicky steps over from the left side to make a musical request. He says to Karolina, "Excuse me. Do you know 'Amazing Grace'?" As Eva Mataev is eating a cookie, her father kisses her on the head. Karolina replies, "Amazing Grace? This one?" then plays a few bars on the piano to demonstrate. Nicky says, "Can I sing with you?" Karolina replies "With me? Sure!" This is obviously an arranged occurrence, rather than a spontaneous act since both Nicky and Karolina are wearing lapel microphones that are hooked into the Protsenko's audio/video equipment when he came forward with his 'spontaneous request'. Karolina's parents must think this makes this video more enjoyable. Nicky climbs onto the folding stool so he can sing into the microphone. The pretty girl in the magenta T-shirt and dark grey leggings, who I suspect is a paternal cousin of the Protsenko kids, seems to be standing by to make sure that Nicky can climb up successfully. At 20 sec, Karolina starts to play the opening bars on the piano. The girl in the magenta T-shirt walks over to her side, then moves farther over behind Karolina. At 23 sec, I see the familiar sunglasses wearing, tall thin man with Van Dyke facial hair, wearing a yellow Hawaiian shirt and blue pants. Standing to his right is a similar looking man who may be his brother. At 30 sec, Nicky begins to sing. At 37 sec, the girl in the magenta T-shirt walks over from behind Karolina to watch over Nicky. At 55 sec, the camera pans across the audience watching from across the street in front of the Apple Store. Then we see Anna Kovaleva, an accomplished pianist attending university in the Los Angeles area. Like Karolina, Anna is half Ukrainian, half Russian. Anna and her family were originally from Moscow, but left Russia to settle in the US after the War in Ukraine started. The lookalike woman standing next to her must be her mom. At 1:05 sec, Dangel is chatting with a familiar young man in a white long sleeve shirt who is occasionally seen in some Karolina 3rd St Promenade performances. At 1:31 sec, Karolina plays her final chord ending the performance. The audience applaud and cheer. SIO
