2014 Nissan NV Passenger Van - Climate Controls

"This is the automatic heater and air conditioner control panel. If your vehicle is not equipped with this feature please see your owner's manual for instructions on how to operate your climate control system. It is made up of three multi-function controls, eight buttons and two temperature displays. The three multi-function controls consist of a center button and an outer ring that works like a dial. The Auto mode may be used all year round. To turn it ON, press this button for automatic cooling or dehumidified heating. The indicator light turns on when the system is activated. It will automatically regulate and maintain fan speed, air flow and temperature in the cabin. The Auto function can be turned OFF by changing fan speed, or by pressing the DEFROST button, or any of the air flow control buttons. To reactivate automatic control, press the AUTO button again. Your vehicle has separate temperature controls for the driver and front seat passenger. The driver's temperature control dial will set the temperature for both driver and passenger if the DUAL control button is not activated. Turn the outside ring of the driver's side control. You'll see the temperature setting change on both readouts as you turn the ring left for cooler, or right for warmer air. If you want to adjust the passenger's side temperature independently from the driver's side, press this button marked DUAL or simply turn the passenger's side control dial. The Dual control indicator light will then illuminate. Turn the dial left for cooler, or right for warmer air. The passenger's side temperature will be displayed. To switch back to driver control, press the DUAL button again. If in Dual mode when you turn your system OFF using the OFF button, it will resume Dual operation when turned back on using the AUTO button. The airflow control buttons provide a choice of air flow outlets. Press to select. Your choice will be confirmed when its indicator light illuminates. Refer to the pictograms for the various air flow combinations: Air will flow from center and side vents From center, side and foot vents Mainly from foot vents and from the defroster and foot vents. In hot or humid conditions, a visible mist may be seen coming from the vents. This does not indicate a malfunction. Air recirculation helps AC efficiency and helps block outside odors from entering the cabin. When you press this button, its indicator will light up. Please be aware that if the front window defroster mode is on, air recirculation will not activate. Allowing outside air to enter the vehicle further improves defogging performance. The OFF button and fan speed control consists of a center OFF button and an outside ring to manually adjust fan speed. Turn the ring left or right to manually control the fan. When you use this control, it turns OFF the automatic climate control mode. To return to automatic climate control, press the AUTO button. To defrost or defog front and side windows, press the defroster control button. The indicator light will illuminate. Air flow will be directed to the front and side windows. The AC activates automatically at temperatures above 36 degrees Fahrenheit. This helps dehumidify the cabin and clear the windshield faster. If your vehicle happens to be in Dual mode, switching on defrost will automatically revert to driver control so both sides of the windshield will defrost evenly. Turn the driver's side temperature to a setting that will best meet weather conditions. For windshield deicing, your temperature selector should be turned to maximum heat. Also, using the manual fan control, turn your fan speed to high. As soon as possible after the windshield is cleared, press the AUTO button to return to Auto mode. The system will return to your previous settings. To defrost or defog the rear window and, if so equipped, the outside mirrors, press the REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER button. The indicator light will illuminate. After defrosting, press again to turn OFF. If not turned OFF manually, the rear window defroster will automatically turn OFF in 15 minutes. To manually turn the air conditioning ON or OFF, press the AC button. To turn the system OFF completely, press the OFF button. There is a temperature sensor located on top of the dashboard, near the windshield, that helps regulate the automatic climate control settings. Please keep this area clear of papers and other materials. Your vehicle is equipped with rear climate controls. These controls allow for independent control of fan speed and temperature for rear seat passengers. This is the fan speed control dial. When set to zero, the rear controls are turned OFF. Turn the dial right or left to increase or decrease fan speed.
