Karros debut highlights

Making his first college appearance as the game's starting pitcher, Jared Karros went five to earn the win for UCLA in what would be a 10-1 rout of the LMU Lions. With a sharp-breaking curve he consistently put over the plate and a fastball he fired with a hearty grunt, Karros walked none and needed to face only seventeen men to get through the fifth. He struck out six. Three batters made poor contact and three made good contact that was just a bit off, giving the Bruins fielders ample opportunity secure the out, which they did on all of them. The Lions hit the ball well five times, but only reached base on three of those hits (twice cleanly, and once on a fielding error). Of those, one scored, one was left on base, and one was picked off by catcher Noah Cardenas.
