Northwestern University professor Wyndham Lathem, 42, (left) was denied security clearance to work in France just six months before he became a suspect in a brutal Chicago stabbing. The microbiologist is accused of stabbing to death Trenton Cornell-Duranleau, 26, (inset) in his Chicago apartment on July 27. Lathem and fellow suspect Andrew Warren, (right) a 56-year-old Oxford finance worker, were both arrested on Friday in California after going on the run.
