Baltimore Police kill wanted man during shootout

One man is dead after a police-involved shooting in Southeast Baltimore. Just before 5:30 p.m., two officers recognized a 40-year-old man who was wanted on a warrant. As the officers attempted to make contact with him, he drove off. Officers followed the suspect. As the suspect approached the intersection of East Fairmount Avenue and North Milton Avenue, his car became disabled. As officers drove past the disabled car, the suspect got out of his car and began firing an automatic weapon, striking the patrol vehicle. The suspect continued shooting at officers down North Milton Avenue. Officers returned gunfire at the suspect, firing multiple rounds. According to Acting Police Commissioner Richard Worley, the suspect dropped the automatic weapon and went to pick up a second automatic weapon when officers shot him.
