When sealing around a roof penetration using a pitch ban the use of Polyglass PolyFlash 1C one part flashing compound makes the process simple and water tight. extend the field membrane to the base of the pitch band flashing and seal as normal clean and if required primed the penetration with a PolyFlash 1C and the penetration come in contact wrap tape around the outside of the pan extending quarter of an inch above the pan this allows you to fill to the top of the pan and allow the PolyFlash 1C to settle and seal completely. remove the tape when the PolyFlash 1C dries fill the base of the pan with a non-shrinking grout stopping at least one inch from the top allow the grout to dry and pour the PolyFlash 1C into the pan allowing it to self-level.
