When I was young, I was in charge of closing the henhouse at night. I'd leave some food in the tray by the door, shut the latch, and then sprint back to the safety of the porchlight, the darkness clawing at my ankles. When I was young, I would sneak out of the house to wish on shooting stars and trace the constellations (I only knew Orion and Ursa Major). And on those cloudless nights the stars would keep the dark at bay. What a wonder that years later, my pencil scratches the shapes of those dreadful things that clutched at my legs in the darkness, and the stars that drove them away. What a wonder that years later, amidst things much more frightening than the shadow of a twisted tree and its cries of dissent to the wind, stars still fall to grant the wish of a child who dared to brave the darkness. ------------------------------------------------------- Thank you so much for watching! This has been a wonderful experience learning and working on animation, I've definitely learned a lot from this (and still have a long way to go). Also HUGE shoutout to Jenner Beutel for the music!
