The Samaritan Leper
THE SAMARITAN LEPER Good Friday Meditation by Father Steve Fillion We read in the gospel of Luke (17:11-19) of the encounter of Jesus with the Ten Lepers, all of whom are healed, but only one who returns to give thanks to Jesus. We may ask ourselves why only the one Samaritan Leper returned to Jesus. Perhaps by imagining him at the foot of the cross as Jesus breathes his last, we may find an answer. And with that, a reason why the other nine lepers failed to return to Jesus. Can we place ourselves, like the one leper who was healed, at the foot of the cross too?
