After completing her business studies, Sandra led a life in the fast lane – until chronic stress caused her to develop depression and become paralyzed. Above all, the mindful movements and breathing exercises she learned from yoga helped her overcome the crisis. She also practiced meditation: With this, she "reprogrammed" her brain to escape harmful thought patterns. The healing properties of these exercises can be scientifically explained. Doctors and neuroscientists have already discovered a great deal about the effects of a mindful yoga practice. Anxiety, anxiety disorders, and depression are among the most common mental illnesses in Germany.
