Swinging It With Buddy Rich"Groovin Hard"Ken Loomer Big Band

One of the best ways to start off a club date with a Big Band is to pick a swinging chart to showcase what this Big Band is all about. Groovin Hard composed by Don Menza for the Buddy Rich Big Band is my idea of a great arrangement that is swinging and groovin to play! This features Manzell Blodsoe from North Texas State on lead tenor sax.He plays with so much feel on this great chart.The Big Band is cooking and I`m driving it with my Slingerland drums to make the music feel as good as possible.I saw Buddy Rich,Maynard Ferguson,Woody Herman,and Count Basie play these type of small clubs all the time in the 70`s and 80`s where the people are right on top of the band.So wonderful today I get to do these type of clubs for the people to hear a swinging Big Band..This was one of my last club dates before the virus shut all the music down.I`m hoping to start up again soon and bring this great music back to the public again.
