Chandra X-ray Observatory: Quick Look: Chandra Shows Giant Black Hole Spins Slower Than Its Peers

The spin of a giant black hole has been measured using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. This discovery gives clues to how some of the biggest black holes grow and evolve. H1821+643 is a quasar located about 3.4 billion light years from Earth. X-rays show that this black hole is spinning at about half the speed of light.
