Returning to Chicago, where he first declared victory in 2008 and the 2012 election, Obama delivered his farewell speech as President of the United States of America. Some 18,000 people attended the farewell address at McCormick Place, the largest convention centre in North America. Barack Obama is the 44th and current president of the United States, and the first African American to serve as U.S. president. First elected to the presidency in 2008, he won a second term in 2012.
