Top 5 Breast/GYN Cancer Advances in 2023: #3 Immunotherapy Updates

As we countdown to #2024, let’s look back at some of the top advances in breast and gynecologic cancers in 2023. *This is a list generated by me and is absolutely not all inclusive. Coming in at #3️⃣: Updates in Immunotherapy. This year: 🔸NRG GY018 and RUBY trials showed the benefit of adding immunotherapy (pembrolizumab in GY018 and dostarlimab in RUBY to carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy for advanced (stage III/IV- some differences in each study for eligibility) or recurrent endometrial cancer and that quickly became standard of care. 🔸KEYNOTE A18 study showed the benefit of adding pembrolizumab to chemotherapy and radiation for locally advanced cervical cancer (awaiting FDA approval - 🤞 in early 2024) 🔸 Updated data from KEYNOTE 522 showed persistent benefit of adding neoadjuvant pembrolizumab to chemotherapy for stage II-III triple negative breast cancer.
