On Oct. 4, 2014, local officials celebrated the North Tarrant Express (NTE) reaching substantial completion nine months ahead of schedule. The event began with a progressive ribbon cutting in each of the six cities (Euless, Bedford, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Haltom City and Fort Worth) the project runs through. The $2.5 billion highway project includes reconstruction of expanded frontage road lanes and main lanes, as well as the addition of new TEXpress managed lanes along 13.3 -miles of I-820 and SH 121/183 between I-35W in Fort Worth and Industrial Boulevard in Euless.
