Disciples SAW, HEARD, and TOUCHED Jesus AFTER he rose from the dead! Also, God assumes we understand nature to understand the words of the Bible: tree, earth, dust, river, mountain, etc. You cannot understand the Bible if you do not understand God's creation and the better you understand creation the less likely you will add pseudoscience to your theology.
