WGA Aw.ards 'Late Night's' Amber Ruffin to Host New York Ceremony. Late Night With Seth Meyers writer and on-air personality Amber Ruffin is set to host the New York edition of the 70th annual Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. Ruffin has become known for her recurring segments on Late Night, including "Amber Says What?" and "Jokes Seth Can't Tell." She's also participated in Late Night's memorable first response to the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment allegations. Ruffin also had the audience at the 2017 WGA Awards laughing during an award presentation. “I'm so excited to host the 2018 Writers Guild Awards!” Ruffin said in a statement. “If you're looking for hard hitting satire on sexual assault allegations, Russia and the Republican tax plan... too bad! This is gonna be all hugs and rainbows! (The hugs will be consensual.)” Ruffin was nominated for an Emmy and a Writers Guild Award for her work on Late Night. She also currently writes for Comedy Central's Detroiters and serves as a regular narrator on Drunk History. And NBC is developing her semi-autobiographical sitcom Going Dutch.
