Davante Adams' Superpower #2 – Kurt Warner Breaks Down the Game Tape (Part 2)

We are running with Davante Adams again in part 2! Earlier in the week, we looked at his superpower number 1: his releases. The separation, his feet and the ability at the line to get through defenders in a timely fashion to give the quarterback a huge advantage by seeing space between Davante and his defender. Today, he is not just a release guy. Not just a guy who will run go routes and comebacks on the outside. Put him in the slot, a really savvy runner in the slot. Able to create that same separation and with intelligence as well. Today, we are going to look at a little bit more of his route running and more things that he brings to the table so he just doesn't have to be that one-on-one guy on the outside and on the backside. Davante Adams can do everything. You saw his superpower on display in video number 1 too, where we looked at more press man situations. That power comes anywhere on the field with any route. His ability to get in and out, to avoid the contact of guys and make them miss at the top of their route. We saw it on all kinds of different things. The choice routes, the flat route with the ability to make sure that a guy can’t put his hands on you. To create 3-4 yards of separation on a flat route? Unbelievable. Able to do these “wrap-naked” concepts where he is able to avoid back behind the line. So much that Davante Adams can do. It’s going to be fun to see what happens in Vegas. Josh McDaniels has always been creative offensively. How does he use one of the best WRs in all of the NFL to create opportunities, catches, and easy plays for the Raiders and Derek Carr. #DavanteAdams #Raiders #KurtWarner
