Israeli forces have started a large-scale military operation in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, resulting in the deaths of at least 8 individuals and injuries to 27 others, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. Jenin has been a focal point of intense conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinians for many years. In 2002, during the second Palestinian intifada, a significant incursion took place in Jenin, leading to the deaths of 52 Palestinian militants and civilians as well as 23 Israeli soldiers over a span of 10 days.
