Plot At the Ardennes Forest in winter, Daniels, now promoted to a Corporal, and the squad gave a toast for Christmas to Turner, who was killed six weeks ago in Hill 493. Meanwhile, a drunken Pierson came staggering to the squad to also give a toast to Turner, a man who he fought beside with for six years, as he tells the squad that he'll no longer be able to defend them when the convoy arrives the next day. In the morning, Daniels, Zussman, Aiello, and Stiles struggles with the cold as the former is tasked by Pierson, who was comfortable with the cold, to resupply the eastern flank with an ammo box. After Daniels deliver the ammo box, several German troops were spotted nearby as Daniels use his sniper to take them out while the soldiers fix the gun jam from their machine gun. After dealing with the enemies, Daniels heads to the Command Tent, where Aiello introduce him to an African-American soldier named Howard, which surprises Daniels. Howard explains that the Germans will attack the convoy when it arrives and Daniels suggest to have air support provide assistance, which Pierson reveals that they already have their hands full in the air. Shortly after the convoy arrives, a German artillery barrage fires at the Allies as they destroy several trucks and killed some soldiers as the remaining squad takes cover. After the artillery barrage stops, the squad regroups with Pierson as he reveals the Germans are bringing in their tanks to them. Howard suggests using a radio at the old CP to request air support for the tanks. After the squad defended Howard and successfully has the radio ready, Daniels makes the call to Rover Joe for air support. The 509th Fighter Squadron receives the request as they try to protect their heavy bomber support from the German Luftwaffe. After gaining full control in the air, the Squadron then head over to the 1st Infantry Division to provide air support. Daniels, Zussman, Aiello, and Howard fall back to the main line as they hold their ground with their allies until air support arrives. Eventually the 509th Fighter Squadron arrives and Daniels use red smoke grenades to mark targets for air support. After neutralizing several German infantry and armor, the squad regroups with Pierson. Pierson orders Daniels to call in air support to the nearby German tanks, which Daniels argues with Pierson that the tanks are too close in the safety line. Impatient, Pierson takes the radio from Daniels and calls in air support himself as Daniels heads to cover while Zussman remarks that Pierson's lost it. Daniels and Zussman head to a foxhole with Aiello and Stiles as they hold their ground against some German soldiers. As a German tank approaches the squad, the P-47s arrives and starts their bombing run at the target requested by Pierson as the blast knocks out the squad. Once they awaken, Howard questions Daniels on how long Pierson's been out of his mind, which Daniels reply that the question is "above my pay grade". Several remaining German soldiers have surrendered as Pierson darkly request to process the Germans quickly.
