Americana (2025) Review – Way Better Than I Expected

Over the weekend, I saw Americana which was first released back in 2023 but finally released in theaters this year. This movie brings together quirky characters, a Native American artifact at the center of the story, and some powerful performances. In this review, I break down the acting from Sydney Sweeney (Penny Jo), Paul Walter Hauser (Lefty Ledbetter), Halsey (Cal’s guardian), and an incredible child performance as Cal. From truthfulness and presence to authentic chemistry and physical engagement, the acting is what drives this film.
