Bill Nichols discusses the connection between ADHD and risky behavior in adolescents and dispels the notion that only those adolescents diagnosed with the hyperactive/impulsive type of ADHD are at risk of engaging in risky behaviors. He also stresses the need for parents to assess both the root cause(s) and the potential consequences of their child’s actions, as risky behavior is strongly correlated not only with ADHD but also with autism spectrum disorder and clinical depression.
