Bodycam DUI Arrest - Police Sergeant Arrested of Suspicion of DUI After Rollover Crash

Each year, law enforcement agencies in New Jersey must report major discipline cases to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. Major discipline cases include terminations, demotions, and significant suspensions. The 2022 report was recently released to the public and it indicated that Highland Park Police Sergeant Jason Culver was suspended for 45 days for the sustained charges of obedience to laws and regulations and conduct unbecoming. On May 20, 2022, Sgt. Culver was arrested in South Plainfield, NJ for suspicion of driving under the influence following a motor vehicle crash where he struck an unoccupied parked motor vehicle. These charges were heard in municipal court on December 7, 2022, where there was no finding of intoxication and the matter was resolved with a guilty plea for reckless driving. Sgt. Culver was ordered to pay a fine of $240 and his license was revoked for 60 days. Police report number 22-26104. njcourts.gov case numbers E22 2880 and E22 2881.
