1/2 Million PhysX Particles in UDK

1/2 Million PhysX Particles in UDK

Made with the unreal development kit March Beta in two days. I've got an i7-930 CPU and an ATI FirePro v8750 and this still only runs at 4-7 FPS live. This video was completely rendered using UDK's benchmark command. Why bother making a video that can be played live, right? The anamorphic lens flares in the beginning were added in After Effects, sorry. If anyone wants to send me a UDK material for my next video, go right ahead. :) Each glowing ball has it's own emitter with it's own PhysX particle system. Copy of same emitter, but it's own PhysX particle system for more particles. All glowing balls are moved with their own matinee. They each have two radial forces attached to them as well. There are other forces not attached. There are 141 PhysX particle emitters in this map, though 12 are doing most of the work. All music in this video is property of Immediate Music. All video is made by myself using UDK by Epic Games. This video is not endorsed by anyone.
