(6 Nov 2014) LUKE BRYAN, MIRANDA LAMBERT AND BLAKE SHELTON REACT TO CMA WINS Luke Bryan waited a long time to get his first CMA award, but his patience paid off. The current king of country touring took home the coveted entertainer of the year award on Wednesday night's (5 NOV. 2014) awards show broadcast live on ABC from Nashville, Tennessee. "To try to understand that you would win your first CMA award and it's the entertainer of the year," Bryan said. "I have longed and sought after many years to get one of these in my hands." But Miranda Lambert continued to rack up the trophies, taking home four more to add to her mantle. She won for album of the year, single of the year, female vocalist of the year for the fifth straight year and musical event with Keith Urban. "It's really unbelievable," Lambert said. "I feel like this year more than ever, being here, I am just in the moment and I am enjoying every second. Looking around at the relationships that I have been able to build over the last 10 years with other amazing artists and legends and friends and I got to perform with two great artists tonight and I just felt like this whole night was about really celebrating music and I am part of it and I am just so thrilled." Meanwhile her husband, Blake Shelton, took home the award for the male vocalist of the year, also the fifth straight time for him. "It's easy for me on one hand to go, well, a lot of this stuff that's happening for me is definitely because of the show, because of 'The Voice.' But on the other hand, 'The Voice' is because of the music and they have kind of gone hand in hand and it's just been the perfect recipe," he said. Brett Eldredge was shocked about his win in the new artist category - and also distracted because he was looking for his family backstage. "It's amazing," Eldredge said. "I don't even know what to say. I am still in shock. I literally don't remember what I said on stage. I don't know if I ever will until I watch it on DVR. I hope I set it at home." And singer Kacey Musgraves was also surprised over her win for the song of the year, for "Follow Your Arrow." "I can just honestly say that for a song that I was told could never and would never be a single, it just blows my mind," she said. "It gives me a lot of faith that people still love connecting with a message and spreading something when they love it and that's what happened. And it's just an anthem for all kinds of people and so I could not be more proud."
