We need to take a step back first because there has not been any new legislation passed to this date to impact Australian expat. There were amendments proposed in this year's budget as most of us would already know and they entail a 183-day Bright-line test and subtests which referred to some other matters which will only come into play if people spend more than 45 days within Australia.
