We are building a Mario Maker snow level for Christmas by putting the Game Maker's Toolkit 4 Step Level Design philosophy into practice! In Part 4 of 8, we introduce a twist on the gameplay mechanic we came up with way back in Part 1, challenging the player to do some serious platforming. Mark Brown is a Youtuber who explores game design and I've been a fan of his for awhile now. A video he made pointed out how Koichi Hayashida, the director of several Mario 3D games for Nintendo, uses a 4 step process to build a level, from introducing the game mechanic, developing it, then giving it a twist before wrapping it up with a satisfying and fun conclusion. Today we are putting this to the test to build a special Christmas-themed Mario snow level! PLAY MY MARIO LEVEL HERE https://supermariomakerbookmark.ninte...
